Under the Private Security Act of 2001 all individuals wishing to work in the private security industry must hold a recognised qualification before we can apply for your licence. This SIA course will be delivered over 3 weeks to ensure you have the knowledge and relevant qualifications needed to apply for the SIA license.

It will help you understand your personal skills and attributes, reinforce job search knowledge and provide you with the resources to plan for and find your chosen job.   • Door Supervision

    This regulated qualification is ideal for anyone wishing to work as a door supervisor as it provides them with the necessary skills and knowledge to apply for an SIA licence in this field. Subjects covered include behavioural standards, legislation relevant to the role, search procedures, powers of arrest, recording incidents and crime scene preservation, reducing risk, conflict management, communicating effectively and physical intervention.

    Security Guarding

    This qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a security officer. This qualification is based on the relevant SIA specification for learning and qualifications and is supported by Skills for Security, the standards setting body for the security industry and the SIA, which regulates the private security industry.

    Customer Service

    This qualification has been designed to prepare learners for employment and support learners who deal, or intend to deal, with customers on a daily basis as part of their job role. It is applicable to a variety of work environments and covers topics such as dealing with customer requests and communication skills.

    First Aid

    During this half day course, Learners will be given the opportunity to practise essential basic life support procedures, including: assessing an incident, managing an unresponsive casualty, recovery position, CPR and choking.

    The Award in Basic Life Support for Adults and Children (RQF) qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide basic life support for adults and children. It is also ideal for those who are qualified in providing first aid and are looking to refresh or develop their existing first aid knowledge and skills further.
