Designed to help learners understand the different aspects of the construction industry, this qualification allows you to gain some of the knowledge and practical skills required to work successfully within it. It offers a great foundation for a career in construction and an industry-wide recognised accreditation for a career in the sector.
The BTEC Level 1 Certificate in Construction provides you with a general introduction to the construction industry and gives a great overview of the sector and the employment prospects it has to offer.
L1 Award in Health and Safety within Construction provides the knowledge and tools required to work safely whilst also gaining an internationally recognised and respected certification that delivers health, safety and environmental basics covered in a single programme.
As it provides an introduction to some of the key themes within the construction sector, this ESFA funded qualification enables you to develop and apply your knowledge whilst also acquiring a range of relevant practical, communication and technical construction-related skills.
Units covered in this qualification:
Age: 19 years plus
Must be in receipt of some form of benefit
In total the course runs for 8 days including customer service Level 1, with the final day used to practice for the CSCS card test. Booking of test will be at a time and date of your choice.
This qualification is designed for learners working in, or aspiring to work in, the construction industry.
The objective of the qualification is to prepare learners for employment in construction. It will give learners the knowledge to undertake their jobs safely.
Successful learners who also complete the CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment knowledge test to fulfil the requirements to apply for the CSCS Labourer’s card.
This qualification covers common hazards and risks in a construction environment, safe manual handling practices, working safely at height and working safely around plant and machinery.
It also covers the importance of effective teamwork and communication in ensuring safe working practices are followed in the construction industry.
